FAQs on joining the MEMC

 

Do I need to participate in all of the activities performed by the club?

No. We understand that our members have jobs and other activities in their lives. Some members, we only see a few times a year. Others seem to be there for everything! We appreciate whatever contribution you can offer.

 

What are some of the duties performed by members?

Planning and putting on Pine Valley Days is the big one. But we also set up and run the Santa’s House before Christmas, hand out glow sticks to the kids on Halloween, pick up trash along the freeway (more fun than you’d think!), interview students for scholarships…..Well, lets just say that we always seem to have something going on!

 

Do I need to pay dues become a member?

No. We only ask of your time.

 

What do I get for being a member?

The satisfaction of knowing that you’ve done something good for your community. You also get to hang out with a great bunch of guys. Occasionally, we may feed you too!

 

Are you affiliated with any national organizations?

Nope. We are from the community and for the community! That community includes all of the Mountain Empire, not just Pine Valley.

 

Do you have any secret handshakes, or initiations?

I’d like to say that’s a secret!!  But no.

 

Sounds Great! How do I become a member of this great organization, The Mountain Empire Men’s Club?

It’s very simple. Just come to one of our meetings and let us know. Our meetings are the first Thursday of each month in the Pine Valley Community Clubhouse. The meetings begin at 6:30PM and typically run anywhere from one to two hours. You may also contact our Recruiting Chairman, Phil Waggoner at 473-0345.
